The rare triple!

Space time: 5:55 p.m. PST (8:55 a.m. Central European Time)
Event: Space station
Attendance: Seven (7), including two (2) newbies.

Once, twice, thrice!

Yes, that's correct gentle space reader, Wednesday's mission was spaceolicious. A rare triple sighting!

The night started slowly, with space club leader Dennis chit chatting away with non-space club member Kerry Young, ignorning his brethren. Time was a ticking toward the rare 4-minute space station sighting.

And what sighting it was!

Club newbies KRand and the new New Guy Rick Hurd were in attendance. Rand looked suspicious while we trekked to the unknown in the darkness. Kept mumbling something about ice cream for dinner...Hurd was talking about his mother.

Tax broke his Uranus early. Although he blames Gotsill. Wait, that sounded funny. I take it back. Carpenter was silent.

Nobody appeared to have stepped on George's leftovers.

Dennis blames "Heavens Above" for making us look in the wrong direction.

Just then, BAM, we spot what we thought was the space station, but turned out to be a Chinese nuclear satellite.

New guy KRand breaks his maiden by spotting the high-flying, very bright space station. Although one wonders why he was looking in the wrong direction to begin with.

A double!

And then another BAM...a Russian spot color satellite appears.

A triple!

Dennis debates the worthiness of the triple. Says it was a double twice over.

Hurd told us about how his mother has a to-scale model of the background of the stars in her garage. Gotsill said she has a damned big garage.

There was no Goo on the door.

The space club meetings are great, the minutes are spectacular. You should be in the communications industry.
